OUR PHILOSOPHY

Ralston Communities is not just about building apartment homes. We are building opportunity, security, and community. By intertwining the psychological theory of Maslow's Hierarchy of of Needs that organizes human needs in a tiered model, suggesting that basic needs must be met before higher-level growth needs can be pursued, we develop our philosophy around that theory when keeping our mission close to our vision and endeavor's for our initiatives.
PILLAR I - PHYSIOLOGICAL
The most basic biological requirement for survival, including air, water, food, sleep and shelter. This is where we at Ralston Communities start, by building not just a community, but a "THRIVE COMMUNITY." Allowing each resident to live in an environment that gives them sleep and shelter in a modern, quality, affordable and accessible apartment home where every unit is designed to exceed baseline standards, because affordability should never mean sacrificing quality!

By welcoming the local community to use the "Community Hub," we can foster diverse interactions where love and belonging converge. Together with community/local events (like arts, crafts, horticulture, and entertainment), this can foster friendships, bonds, and network support outside their residence, while still keeping a safe environment for all.
PILLAR II - SAFETY
Once physiological needs are met, people see security and stability. This includes safety of the building. Affordability, medical and psychological needs. From AI assisted doormen and 24-hour security, to roll-in showers and wide doorways, to zero-step entries, sensory-friendly environments, and motion controlled LED lighting, we remove barriers so that residents can live independently, with confidence and comfort.

This level reflects the desire for self-respect, recognition, status, and appreciation from others. Meeting these needs fosters confidence and a sense of achievement.
At the top of the hierarchy is the drive to realize one's full potential, develop talents, and achieve personal growth and fulfillment. This is considered a growth need, emerging once lower-level deficiency needs are reasonably satisfied. By offering virtual classes, training, workshops and of the like in our Community Hub, esteem and self-actualization will bloom into a reality and allow the resident, and the local community as a whole to thrive in their lives, to continue to grow as an individual and flourish in their life!
